On the third Sunday in October, the streets of Jefferson explode in a culinary festival. For only a ten dollar ticket, you get a plate and a drink and can start at one end of town and eat your way to the other! In 2002, twenty-five different restaurants have tables where you can sample barbecue, German, Italian, Mexican, catfish, homestyle and many other types of food. From the Hamburger Store's delicious pies to Diamond Bessie's Jalapeno Poppers, the cuisine was incredible.

The proper etiquette is to get the cardboard bottom from a case of canned beer or pop, and use it as a tray to hold all the goodies. By the time that we'd rounded the last corner, we were pleasantly stuffed - next year we're not even eating breakfast beforehand!
